Wrongful Death. Shawn represented a widow and her children against drivers who struck and killed a pedestrian. Surprisingly, the police found the deceased pedestrian at fault for his own death and State Farm, the Defendant’s insurer, originally denied the family’s claim – they argued he shouldn’t have tried to cross the road. In the end, Shawn obtained the full value of all insurance policies for Mr. Cumming’s family.

“My Grandson and I had already reached a tentative settlement with the insurance company which was representing the individual that caused the accident and was arrested for DUI at the time. Not feeling comfortable with the settlement and my knowledge of the legal system, I sought assistance and after a brief meeting, Shawn advised that I was well under what they felt was a reasonable settlement. My Grandson and I decided to have Shawn step-in and take over the case. Shawn immediately started working on the case and diligently analyzed the situation. Based on some preliminary info that we provided, Shawn was able to search court records from several surrounding counties and found that the other driver had several other altercations with the authorities including 2 other DUI arrests.
